Her books deal with themes of power, privilege, politics, and the complex nature of the human psyche. She studied social anthropology and creative writing at Harvard University and New York University, respectively.ĭovey’s experimental and high style literary fiction has garnered much critical acclaim over a decade-long career. Born South African, Dovey spent time in both South Africa and Australia when she was growing up.
